Making Music Happen
Musik i Väst is a government-funded organization which supports music-making at all levels in Västra Götaland, a region which covers an area of 24,000 square kilometers where 1.5 million people live.
Musik i Väst helps organize performances of music with both professionals and amateurs, for audiences of all age groups and in all music genres.
Musik i Väst organizes everything from prestigious choral-orchestral concerts with hundreds of performers to informal sing-alongs with pre-school children, from tours with international jazz or world music artists to tailor-made projects on music and dictatorship for high schools, or from courses on folk music for teenagers to music-activation projects for people suffering from senile dementia.
With 4,3 activities per day, 365 days per year, Musik i Väst is one of Sweden’s most active musical organizations.
Our parent organization is Region Västra Götaland.
